teernight.live (the “Site”) is supported by advertising and, in some cases, affiliate marketing. This Advertising Disclosure explains, in plain language, how the Site is monetised, what advertising partners we work with, what controls you have over the ads you see, and how we keep advertising separate from editorial content. It is intended to satisfy applicable U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Endorsement Guides, the publisher requirements of Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager, and equivalent disclosure requirements in other jurisdictions.
1. How the Site Is Funded
We earn revenue primarily through:
- Display and native advertising served programmatically through Google AdSense and, where applicable, Google Ad Manager and authorised demand partners.
- Affiliate marketing, where we may earn a commission if a reader clicks an affiliate link and completes a qualifying action. Affiliate commissions do not increase the price you pay.
- Sponsored content, where a third party pays for an article or placement to be created. Sponsored content is always clearly labelled and held to our editorial standards.
We do not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage of any product, service, attorney, law firm, or treatment programme outside of clearly labelled sponsorship arrangements.
2. Google AdSense
The Site participates in Google AdSense. As required by Google’s publisher policies, we disclose:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
- You may opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info (Digital Advertising Alliance) or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
3. The DoubleClick / DART Cookie
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our Site, including the DoubleClick DART cookie. The DART cookie enables Google and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this Site and other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ads and content network privacy policy.
4. Google Ad Manager and Programmatic Partners
Some inventory may be made available through Google Ad Manager and authorised demand sources, including supply-side platforms (SSPs), demand-side platforms (DSPs), and ad exchanges. Each of these partners may set its own cookies or identifiers and may use them to serve, measure, or attribute advertising. A current list of Google’s certified ad-technology providers is available at support.google.com/admanager/answer/9012903.
5. Personalised vs. Non-Personalised Ads
Where required by law and platform policy, we ask for your consent before personalised advertising is served. If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, our Consent Management Platform (CMP) prompts you for consent compatible with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) and Google’s Additional Consent (AC) specification. If you decline consent, you may still see non-personalised ads.
6. California Residents and the GPC Signal
If you are a California resident, you have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal where technically feasible. You may also opt out by emailing support@teernight.live with the subject [Privacy].
7. Children’s Advertising (COPPA)
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly direct content at children under 13 and we do not collect personal information from them. Where any portion of the Site or a specific tag is identified as child-directed, we instruct Google to serve only non-personalised, COPPA-compliant ads on that inventory.
8. ads.txt and Authorised Sellers
To help advertisers verify that they are buying authentic teernight.live inventory and to combat ad fraud, we maintain an ads.txt file at teernight.live/ads.txt listing the partners authorised to sell our inventory, in line with the IAB Tech Lab specification.
9. Affiliate Links
Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and complete a qualifying action, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are signposted in-context where they appear (for example, with a footnote or inline disclosure). The presence of an affiliate link does not change our editorial recommendation or the standards we apply to evaluating a product, service, or provider.
10. Sponsored Content
If we publish sponsored content, it will be clearly and conspicuously labelled with terms such as “Sponsored,” “Paid Partnership,” “Advertisement,” or “In Partnership With [Brand],” consistent with the FTC’s Endorsement Guides. Sponsored content is fact-checked to the same standard as editorial content and is reviewed by our editors prior to publication.
11. Attorney Advertising and Lead Generation
The Site discusses asbestos litigation, mesothelioma lawsuits, and asbestos trust funds. Some pages may carry advertising that constitutes attorney advertising under the rules of one or more U.S. state bar associations. The presence of such an advertisement is not an endorsement, recommendation, or referral by the Site. Past results do not guarantee future outcomes. Choosing a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely on advertising; we encourage readers to verify state-bar licensure, board certifications, ethics history, and standing before engaging any attorney. Where we use a third-party “click-to-call” or “request a free consultation” form provided by a law firm or lead-generation partner, the form is the law firm’s or partner’s; we do not represent you and we do not screen the merits of your potential claim.
12. Editorial Independence
Advertising and affiliate partners do not commission, review, approve, or veto editorial content. Our editors decide what to cover and how, based on reader value and the standards described in our Editorial Policy. Whenever an article references a specific attorney, law firm, treatment centre, or service that is also a current advertiser or affiliate partner, the relationship is disclosed.
13. Ad Quality, Restricted Content, and User Experience
We aim to keep the Site’s advertising experience non-disruptive and policy-compliant:
- We comply with Google’s Better Ads Standards by avoiding intrusive ad formats (e.g., pop-ups that block content, prestitial ads with countdown, large sticky ads that obscure content).
- We do not encourage or place clicks on our own ads, accidentally or otherwise.
- We do not place ads on pages designed primarily for ad serving rather than for user value.
- We do not modify Google ad code in ways that violate Google’s policies.
- Sensitive content (for example, articles about end-of-life care or hospice) may have monetisation reduced or disabled to ensure compliance with Google’s Publisher Restrictions and Restricted Content categories.
14. Reporting an Ad
If you see an ad on the Site that appears to be misleading, deceptive, malicious, age-inappropriate, or otherwise problematic, please email support@teernight.live with the subject [Advertising] and include:
- The page URL where the ad appeared.
- A description or screenshot of the ad and its destination URL if known.
- The approximate date and time and your general location (country/state).
We will investigate and, where appropriate, escalate to the relevant ad network for action.
15. AdChoices Icon
Many ads served on the Site display the AdChoices icon. Clicking that icon takes you to information about why an ad was shown to you and how to control your ad preferences with the relevant network.
16. Updates to This Disclosure
We may update this Advertising Disclosure as our partners or practices change. The “Last Updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Site.
